A Visit to LRI from Tracy Bevan

The staff at LR Instruments Head Office, were graced Wednesday 19 October 2011 with a visit from Tracy Bevan, Ambassador and Director of the McGrath Foundation. Tracy shared with us her unique story of her time with Jane McGrath and how the Foundation began.

Tracy also covered the importance of Corporate Friends, and what LR Instruments are doing to assist by donating very important funds to help reach Jane’s dream. With two main objectives being to raise money to place breast care nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as to increase breast awareness in young women.

LR Instruments Management and Staff are proud to be a part of such an important supporting network for women going through breast cancer. The LRI Staff have all rallied together to supply all the McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses with a nurses pouch and watch as a thank you and in the hope of assisting in some small way.

About the McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation was co-founded by Jane and Glenn McGrath after Jane’s initial recovery from breast cancer. It was Jane’s personal experience that led her to believe that the McGrath Foundation should raise money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as increase breast awareness in young Australian women.

Today, the McGrath Foundation has helped support over 10,000 Australian families experiencing breast cancer, with 63 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working in communities throughout Australia, helping to coordinate care and ensure their physical, psychological and basic support needs are met, regardless of their financial situation.

In addition, the McGrath Foundation also encourages young women to be breast aware and has developed a Breast Awareness Card outlining how to do a regular breast check - early detection can mean more effective treatment.
